Our students are making us proud!
Most youths mentored by Mrs. Ekama Akpan relate the beginning of Showers Christian High School to Young Readers Club. which started in 1992 to occupy neighborhood children that allowed them to discuss books every Saturday in an environment that encouraged openness and individual thought. Through this fun related event, parents showed enthusiasm to the of starting tutorial classes in a one bedroom class room at 17 Ohaeto street D/line, Port Harcourt. The need to engage children to develop their potentials is the driving force and underlying success of the vision of Showers Christian High School.
Since we relate good Christian values to excellent performance, we have graduated students who are breaking records in the various schools and institutions after they left Showers. Some of these did not necessarily leave with the best results, but were taught to dig in, find their potential, remain focused on their dreams and trust God to see them through. Ephesians 6:10-18 is our favorite bible reference on how they are sure to face challenges as they go face the real world. As they do well and tell us, we naturally tell them; “we are not surprised”. This is perhaps why there is so much competitiveness to outshine previous students’ records.
The Avalanche of super results started amidst tough challenges faced by the school.
